Overall, if you can pony up the ridicu lous amount of cash that this game goes for, it is a real gem in my opinion for a genre that hasn't been relevant in nearly 2 decades. But whereas Crime Crackers is a difficult recommendation to non-Japanese speakers due its reliance on textual clues and menus, Nekketsu Oyako is as a simple a game as one could want. For example, you can pick up a bazooka, a hand grenade, a boomerang buzz saw, and even a Sega Saturn! There is also a bottle of beer but only the adult character is allowed to drink it which is kind of a neat twist. Nekketsu Oyako is one of two games available on Japanese PSN that date all the way back to the Japanese launch of the PlayStation, the other being Crime Crackers. The items and weapons that you can pick up are pretty cool. One thing I love about this game is that there are NOT unlimited continues which adds a lot to the replay value (sorry Dungeons & Dragons). You’ve got your three characters, the big buff slowpoke, the fast but weak girl, and the all around average guy, and they walk through a bunch of levels beating the puss out of stuff for some reason or another. In fact, it is so similar to Final Fight that I am surprised the same development team at Capcom did not have a hand in making it. Hot Blooded Family (Thermal Blood - Parent & Child) - Nekketsu Oyako (NTSC-J). Game Description: Nekketsu Oyako by TechnoSoft (or alternately Tecno Soft) not to be confused with the other Nekketsu games, starring Kunio, by Technos is a rather average Final Fight clone beatemup. This game takes me back to the good old days of 16-bit beat-em ups which, let's be honest, are are dying breed if not completely extinct.
